Accounting platform

Our client, a leading IT company from California, took into development a complex and feature-rich accounting platform. So, to speed up the work, our client decided to support his in-house team with remote outstaffing specialists.

Our goal was to rewrite the old project architecture and make the platform convenient, fast, and efficient for educational and certification purposes in the accounting area.

The situation

The old platform version required more and more attention to maintain. At the same time, the old architecture could not meet the growing needs of concurrent users. Moreover, it was also necessary to update the UX because it does not meet modern requirements.

The main project idea was to complete a unique platform to receive a CPA certificate (Chartered Professional Accountants certificate). So, we had to improve platform performance, remove all unnecessary processes, add the required features and prepare the platform for stable training and issuance of certificates to accountants.

Another project goal was platform preparation for migration to a new ERP system for accounting training management.

The solution

During this project, we:
  • rewrote the old platform architecture.
  • separated front-end and back-end using API.
  • created different scenarios on the platform for different types of applicants.
  • improved functionality for online learning and sessions.
  • prepared the platform for migration to a new ERP.

Key results

We improved platform architecture and functionality, so now it allows users to perform seamlessly all necessary actions: from online consultation to obtaining needed documents. Now accountants can complete the CPA professional education program as a combination of enriched academic study, practical training, and guidance from a personal advisor. In addition, we have enhanced the Practical Experience Reporting Tool (PERT) to capture all practical experiences of applicants.

So, working together with the client's team, we developed a powerful tool for accountants to receive CPA certification and become globally recognized and respected.
